Baseball Recap: Newark Takes a Loss

After flying high against DuPont on Tuesday, Newark came back down to earth. The Yellowjackets fell 6-1 to the McKean Highlanders on Thursday. The Yellowjackets were not able to make up for their defeat to the Highlanders from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Newark's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for McKean, their win ended an 11-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 5-6-1.

Coming up, Newark will welcome Brandywine at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for McKean, they will head out to challenge Polytech at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. The Highlanders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 6.3 runs per game this season.
