Baseball Recap: Oklahoma Union Comes Up Short

Oklahoma Union blew Kiefer out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Thursday Kiefer got their revenge. The Cougars fell just short of the Trojans by a score of 8-6. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Trojans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2016.

Baylor Murray was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. That home run marked the first that he launched this season. Tanner Dickson was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

Oklahoma Union has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-5 record this season. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only 1.33 runs. As for Kiefer, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Oklahoma Union will venture away from home to face off against Rejoice Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Kiefer, they will head out to challenge Tulsa NOAH HomeSchool at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
