Baseball Recap: Hoggard Takes a Loss

Hoggard was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 5-2 to the West Carteret Patriots. The Vikings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Patriots apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Hoggard saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jake Jeffrey, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Hoggard's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for West Carteret, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

While Hoggard had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
