Volleyball Recap: Thursday's Loss Ends North Port's Winning Streak

After flying high against Imagine School at North Port on Tuesday, North Port came back down to earth. The Bobcats fell 3-1 to the Lemon Bay Manta Rays on Thursday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Manta Rays this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in August.

The match finished with set scores of 25-7, 25-19, 24-26, 25-10.

Despite the loss, North Port still got an impressive performance from Natalie Shelton, who had 18 digs.

Among those leading the charge was Nargiz Aktayeva, who had 11 digs.

The defeat snapped North Port's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-11 record. As for Lemon Bay, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 10-4.

Looking ahead, North Port will welcome Port Charlotte at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lemon Bay, they will head out on the road to square off against Babcock at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
