Baseball Recap: McAllen Takes a Loss

McAllen was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Pioneer Diamondbacks. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Diamondbacks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-8 last Tuesday.

McAllen saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sean Lara, who went 1-for-4 with one triple and one run. That triple was Lara's first of the season.

McAllen's loss dropped their record down to 3-12-3. As for Pioneer, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-9.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. McAllen is set to square off against their familiar foe Vela at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Pioneer will take on rival Sharyland at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
