Basketball Preview: Rock Ridge Phoenix vs. Park View Patriots
The Rock Ridge Phoenix will head out on the road to challenge the Park View Patriots at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Rock Ridge has not done well against the Titans recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Rock Ridge narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Titans 45-43.
Meanwhile, Park View was able to grind out a solid win over the Captains on Wednesday, taking the game 43-34.
It was another big night for Anna Helstrom, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyra Hurley, who scored 13 points along with three steals.
Rock Ridge's record now sits at 7-11. Park View's record is now 8-10.
Rock Ridge strolled past the Patriots in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 by a score of 43-26. The rematch might be a little tougher for Rock Ridge since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
