Basketball Recap: North Harrison Falls to South Central in First Game of Season

North Harrison had to start their season on the road on Wednesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They took a 74-63 hit to the loss column at the hands of the South Central Rebels. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rebels apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2024.

Grace Goldman and Carlee Chatman certainly did their best on Wednesday to avoid the loss. Goldman dropped a double-double with 31 points and 11 rebounds, while Chatman dropped a double-double with 16 points and 14 boards. Goldman's big performance that evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Paisley Book, who posted six points and nine rebounds.

Looking ahead, North Harrison will head out on the road to take on Eastern at 7:30 p.m. on the 14th. As for South Central, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Clarksville at 7:30 p.m.
