Baseball Recap: Claremont Starts Season with Victory Against Victor Valley

Claremont took care of business in their home opener on Monday. They came out on top against the Victor Valley Jackrabbits by a score of 7-2. The Wolfpack have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Jackrabbits, too.

Brandon Garcia looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Wyatt Green was incredible, going 3-for-4 with five RBI, one stolen base, and one double. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI. Another player making a difference was Luke Porras, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Claremont wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 10-4 win against Knight on the 19th. As for Victor Valley, they have also already played their next contest, a 14-2 loss against Sultana on the 19th.
