Baseball Game Preview: West Jessamine Colts vs. Danville Admirals

The West Jessamine Colts will take on the Danville Admirals at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. West Jessamine is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.

West Jessamine proved they can win big on Monday (they won by six) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They never let Boyle County get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory.

West Jessamine got a great performance from Jacob Cissell as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over 5.1 innings pitched. Cissell also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because the Colts are 5-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 15-17 otherwise.

At the plate, West Jessamine saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lucas Poor, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

The home team had won the previous two meetings between Danville and Mercer County, and Danville kept the tradition alive. The Admirals sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 win over the Titans on Wednesday.

Noah Cross was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He pitched seven innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. Cross was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

West Jessamine's record now sits at 20-18. As for Danville, their record is now 24-12.
