Softball Preview: Pendleton Heights Arabians vs. Elwood Panthers
The Pendleton Heights Arabians will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against the Elwood Panthers at 5:30 p.m. Pendleton Heights will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.
On Saturday, Pendleton Heights got themselves on the board against Chesterton, but Chesterton never followed suit. Everything went their way against the Trojans as they made off with an 11-0 win. Pendleton Heights' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Kiah Hubble was excellent, scoring a run while going 3-for-5. Alana Smith was another key contributor, going 1-for-2 with three RBI.
Meanwhile, Elwood had to hit the road for their first game and sadly it wasn't the result they were hoping for. Their tough 10-0 defeat to Yorktown on Saturday might stick with them for a while. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Elwood in their matchups with Yorktown: they've now lost six in a row.
The victory got Pendleton Heights back to even at 2-2. As for Elwood, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
