On Saturday, McIntosh County Academy strolled past Atkinson County with points to spare, taking the game 58-42. Given McIntosh County Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 162nd, while Atkinson County is ranked 528th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
McIntosh County Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mj Quarterman, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. The contest was Quarterman's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandon Johnson, who scored 15 points.
Meanwhile, Dougherty scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They managed a 81-77 win over Calhoun County. The victory was nothing new for Dougherty as they're now sitting on three straight.
McIntosh County Academy's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-2. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 29.67 points. As for Dougherty, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2.
