North Lincoln hadn't done well against Alexander Central recently (they were 0-6 in their previous six matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Knights blew past the Cougars 104-65. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 52-31.

Nick Whitener had an outrageously good game as he dropped a double-double with 29 points and 15 rebounds. Those 29 points gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Carter Abernethy, who went 9-for-16 to rack up 23 points along with six boards and five assists.

North Lincoln was working as a unit and finished the game with 26 assists. They racked up 12 more assists than Alexander Central's also-impressive total of 14.

Despite the loss, Alexander Central still got an impressive performance from Noah VanBeurden, who posted 28 points. VanBeurden is crushing it when it comes to points: he's scored at least 24 every time he's taken the court this season. Jaheim Redmond was another key player, putting up ten points.

North Lincoln pushed their record up to 2-1 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Alexander Central, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Lincoln will venture away from home to take on Ashbrook at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. The Knights will be up against the Greenwave's rather soft defense (which has allowed 51.25 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Alexander Central, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Newton-Conover at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
