Volleyball Recap: Wilkes-Barre Comes Up Short

If Wilkes-Barre was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Wyoming Area last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wolfpack came up short against the Abington Heights Comets on Monday, falling 3-0.

While Wilkes-Barre was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-12, 25-13.

Abington Heights found their leader in sophomore Brielle Wentz, who had 12 digs and three aces. Wentz has been hot recently, having posted two or more aces the last three times she's played.

Wilkes-Barre has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season. As for Abington Heights, the win keeps them at an undefeated 18-0.

Looking ahead, Wilkes-Barre will welcome Holy Redeemer at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Abington Heights, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Lackawanna Trail at 5:00 p.m.
