Baseball Recap: Lucy Beckham Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Lucy Beckham, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Berkeley Stags a 2-0 shutout on Friday. This was a revenge game for the Bengals: when they faced off against the Stags last Wednesday, they had to take a 4-3 defeat.

Sam Dielmann tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over six innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Lucy Beckham is 2-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 3-4 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Riles Morris, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that he hit this season.

Lucy Beckham hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are 2-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.

The win got Lucy Beckham back to even at 5-5. As for Berkeley, their record is now an identical 5-5.
