Volleyball Game Preview: Hillcrest Rams vs. Catawba Ridge Copperheads + How To Watch

The Hillcrest Rams will head out on the road to face off against the Catawba Ridge Copperheads at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.

Hillcrest is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Eastside with a sharp 3-0 win. The Rams have beaten the Eagles the last nine times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Eagles has come to flipping the script.

Hillcrest was especially dominant in the second set. The final score came out to 25-16, 25-13, 25-17.

Catawba Ridge not only won last Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since October 7th (when they won 3-0). Everything went their way against Clover as they made off with a 3-0 victory.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-21, 25-20.

Hillcrest better focus on containing Jameson Reynolds and Davin Freeman as the pair were huge in Catawba Ridge's win. Reynolds had five digs and four aces, while Freeman had 11 digs and two assists. That's the most aces Reynolds has posted since back in September. Leah Okogbenin also deserves some recognition as she served her first aces of the season.

Hillcrest's win bumped their record up to 21-8. As for Catawba Ridge, their victory bumped their record up to 22-12-1.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Monday's contest: Hillcrest has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 6.3 aces per game. However, it's not like Catawba Ridge struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.2 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
