Basketball Recap: Melrose Wins Going Away Against Mescalero Apache

Melrose won the last time they faced Mescalero Apache and things went their way on Friday too. The Buffaloes blew past the Chiefs 60-37. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Buffaloes just coasted through the last quarter.

Braylan Morgan had an outrageously good game as she dropped a double-double with 21 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Shylynn Downey, who posted 13 points and five assists.

Melrose smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in 11 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Melrose's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Mescalero Apache, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
