It was a good run, but St. Thomas More unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-match winning streak on Saturday. They fell 2-0 to the Galena Pirates. The Sabers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Pirates apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2021.

Cassidy Monahan paced St. Thomas More's offense, picking up ten kills. Monahan got some help from Julianne Kerr and her nine assists.

St. Thomas More's defeat dropped their record down to 22-9. As for Galena, their win bumped their record up to 26-4.

St. Thomas More didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Athens on the 18th. As for Galena, they have also already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Hartsburg-Emden on the 18th.
