Volleyball Recap: Sandia Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Leanne Romero and Nevaeh Jaramillo

Sandia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Capital Jaguars. The Matadors were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Jaguars earlier this season, when they won 3-0.

Sandia started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 18-25, 25-23, 25-17, 25-20.

Nevaeh Jaramillo and Leanne Romero certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Jaramillo had 26 digs and two aces, while Romero had 15 digs and 15 assists.

Sandia's defeat dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Capital, with the win, they broke their eight-match losing streak and moved their record to 5-15.

Sandia didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Manzano on the 30th. As for Capital, they have also already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against La Cueva on the 30th.
