Basketball Recap: Chambers/Wheeler Central Takes a Loss

Chambers/Wheeler Central lost against St. Mary back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Chambers/Wheeler Central Renegades were outmatched by the St. Mary's Cardinals and fell 66-39. The Renegades were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-15.

Michael Jesse and Elijah Heinz certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Jesse posted 11 points and seven boards, while Heinz had nine points and five rebounds.

St. Mary's found their leader in sophomore Logan Brabec, who went 5 of 12 en route to 16 points in addition to six rebounds and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of James Eby, who put up nine points.

Chambers/Wheeler Central has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season. As for St. Mary's, their record now sits at 10-3.

Chambers/Wheeler Central will face off against Bloomfield at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Chambers/Wheeler Central is facing Bloomfield at the right time seeing as Bloomfield is stuck on an eight-game losing streak. St. Mary's has already played their next game, a 62-58 loss against Cedar Catholic on the 21st.
