Preview: Mead Mavericks vs. Windsor Wizards
Mead is on a 15-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Windsor is on a five-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Mead Mavericks will take on the Windsor Wizards at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Mead's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five contests.
Last Friday, Mead beat Holy Family 55-45. 55 seems to be a good number for Mead as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
It was another big night for Dominic Reed mclawrence, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Matthew Angelo was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, even though Centaurus scored an imposing 55 points on Friday, Windsor still came out on top. Windsor took their game against Centaurus 64-55. Given Windsor's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 14th, while Centaurus is ranked 163rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Mead has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. As for Windsor, their victory bumped their record up to 17-4.
Mead might still be hurting after the 65-43 loss they got from Windsor in their previous meeting back in January. Will Mead have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
