The Carlin Railroaders will venture away from home to face off against the Mineral County Serpents at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Carlin comes in on seven and Mineral County on five.
Carlin is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nevada's top teams: Wells, who was ranked eighth at the time (Carlin was ranked third). The Railroaders put the hurt on the Leopards with a sharp 44-22 win on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Railroaders, who have now won six contests by 22 points or more so far this season.

It was another big night for Dylan Ramirez, who rushed for 274 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.9 yards per carry, and also threw for 15 yards and one TD. He showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 59 yards. Carlin also got a significant boost from Tryston Martinez, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 83 yards.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Carlin was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 447 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mineral County). They claimed a resounding 64-20 victory over McDermitt. The Serpents are also no stranger to big wins: their blowout on Friday was the fifth game they've won by 20+ points this season.
Mineral County's win came from a few key players Carlin will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Chase Reeves, who threw for 337 yards and six TDs while completing 75% of his passes, and also rushed for 33 yards and one score. Thanks to that big game, he is now up to 19 passing touchdowns on the season. Another player making a difference was Quentin Isom, who picked up 223 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
One reason for the win was Mineral County's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. In that department, Christopher Orozco was the leader with two.
Carlin's record is now 7-0. As for Mineral County, their record now sits at 5-1.
