Football Recap: San Benito Takes a Loss + How To Watch

San Benito fell victim to Westlake and their airtight defense on Friday. They were dealt a 66-0 defeat at the hands of the Chaparrals. While losing is never fun, the Greyhounds can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 439th, while the Chaparrals are ranked tenth).

Rees Wise looked great while leading his team to the win, throwing for 191 yards and one touchdown while completing 76.9% of his passes, and also punching in one score on the ground. What's more, he racked up 143.9 passer rating, the most he's had since back in November of 2024.

San Benito's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Westlake, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. San Benito will head out to take on United at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Westlake, they will venture away from home to challenge Atascocita at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
