Volleyball Recap: El Dorado Extends Winning Streak to Four

El Dorado entered their tilt with Parkland on Friday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They came out on top against the Matadors by a score of 3-1. This was a revenge game for the Aztecs: when they faced off against the Matadors back in September, they had to take a 3-2 loss.

El Dorado walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the second set). The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-12, 22-25, 25-21.

El Dorado was led to victory by Hannah Garcia and Abilene Solis. Garcia had 40 assists and 14 digs, while Solis had 15 digs, 13 kills, two aces, and one block. That's the most digs Garcia has posted since back in September. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Varela, who had 18 digs and three aces.

Despite the defeat, Parkland saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kylie Estrada had 12 digs.

El Dorado's win bumped their record up to 15-18. As for Parkland, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-21 record this season.

El Dorado didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-2 victory against Hanks on the 21st. As for Parkland, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-1 loss against Americas on the 21st.
