Volleyball Recap: Salida Spartans vs. Alamosa Mean Moose
Salida and Alamosa squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Salida had to settle for second. They lost 3-0 to the Mean Moose. If the Spartans were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Mean Moose when the teams met back in September of 2017, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Salida was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Alamosa work for it, especially in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-9, 28-15.
Leading Alamosa to victory were Addison Rice and Jaelin Garcia. Rice had 11 digs and two aces, while Garcia had six digs. Rice has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more digs the last 15 times she's played.
This is the second loss in a row for Salida and nudges their season record down to 15-9. As for Alamosa, the victory was the 21st in a row for them, bringing their record up to 24-1.
As of now, neither Salida nor the Mean Moose have any future games scheduled.
