Softball Recap: Midway Takes a Loss

Midway was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 11-6 to the Greenback Cherokees. The Green Wave were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cherokees apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Addison Armes made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-4. Kyker Johnston was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.

Midway's defeat dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Greenback, they picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 2-3.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Midway will take on rival Harriman at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Greenback is set to square off against their familiar foe Rockwood at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
