Recap: Chartiers-Houston Buccaneers vs. California Trojans

The Chartiers-Houston Buccaneers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. Everything went their way against California as Chartiers-Houston made off with a 65-44 win. Chartiers-Houston has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 21 points or more this season.

Chartiers-Houston's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ella Richey led the charge by scoring 20 points along with six rebounds. That's the first time this season that Richey scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Capozzoli, who scored 15 points along with five assists and three steals.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Chartiers-Houston, bringing their record for this year to 11-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.3 points per game. As for California, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chartiers-Houston will challenge Bethlehem Center at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Bethlehem Center is on a three-game streak of home wins, Chartiers-Houston a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. California will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Clairton at 10:00 a.m. on January 20th. Clairton has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
