It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Carbon ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 17-10 margin over the Richfield Wildcats. The Dinos' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

The team relied heavily on Rydge Butler, who scored three runs while getting on base in four of his six plate appearances. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Logan Bennett also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Carbon kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive contests.

Carbon's victory bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Richfield, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.
