Baseball Game Preview: Huntley Red Raiders vs. Antioch Sequoits

The Huntley Red Raiders are taking a road trip to square off against the Antioch Sequoits at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Huntley is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Illinois' top teams: Normal Community, who was ranked 14th at the time (Huntley was ranked sixth). The Red Raiders fell just short of the Ironmen by a score of 7-6 on Friday. The Red Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Antioch fell victim to Vernon Hills and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the Cougars, falling 10-0. Having soared to a lofty 16 runs in the game before, the Sequoits' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Huntley's defeat dropped their record down to 27-7. As for Antioch, they now have a losing record of 16-17.

Huntley skirted past Antioch 8-6 in their previous matchup back in May of 2025. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Red Raiders since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
