Football Recap: Northville Starts Season with Win on the Road + How To Watch

Northville had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They slipped by the Lake Orion Dragons 14-13 on Thursday. This was payback for the Mustangs, who suffered a 21-13 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Northville was led to victory by Max DeFore and Cooper Derkach. DeFore rushed for 125 yards and one score, while Derkach rushed for 88 yards and one TD. Those 88 rushing yards gave Derkach a new career-high.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northville will host Plymouth at 7:00 p.m. on September 5. The contest will give the Mustangs their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Lake Orion, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Stoney Creek at 7:00 p.m. on September 5.
