Basketball Recap: Brandon Solomon's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Word of God Christian Academy over NC GBB Academy

Word of God Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 68-61 to the NC GBB Academy Eagles. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (57), the Holy Rams still had to take the loss.

Several Holy Rams players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brandon Solomon, who went 8 of 14 on his way to 15 points and six boards. The game was Solomon's third in a row with at least ten points. Amare Morgan was another key player, going 7 for 9 en route to 13 points and eight rebounds.

Word of God Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 9-8. As for NC GBB Academy, they moved to 4-8 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Word of God Christian Academy has already played their next matchup (against Combine Academy Elite), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. NC GBB Academy will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Wayne Preparatory Academy at 6:45 p.m. on January 31st.
