Basketball Recap: Christ Chapel Academy falls despite strong effort from David Neaves

Basketball Recap: Christ Chapel Academy vs. Northern Virginia HomeSchool Centurions

On Thursday, Christ Chapel Academy ended up a good deal behind the Centurions and lost 63-46. While losing is never fun, Christ Chapel Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 305th, while the Centurions are ranked 137th).

When it comes to explaining why Christ Chapel Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is David Neaves. Despite the final result, he scored 26 points along with three steals. Noah Willis was another key contributor, scoring eight points.

Joshua/khase Anderson had a dynamite game for Northern Virginia HomeSchool, scoring 15 points along with two steals and two blocks. Anderson is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for four games straight. Another player making a difference was Jacob Gresham, who scored 12 points.

Christ Chapel Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season. As for Northern Virginia HomeSchool, their win bumped their record up to 14-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Christ Chapel Academy has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on February 5th. Dominion Christian is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Northern Virginia HomeSchool, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Saints at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
