Softball Recap: Escondido Charter Takes a Loss

Escondido Charter and Sage Creek squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Escondido Charter had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Bobcats by a score of 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Tigers have suffered since May 9, 2024.

Olivia Smith and Rose Gomez stepped up to the plate in a big way. Smith went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double, while Gomez went 2-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Amber Rossback, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Escondido Charter's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 22-6. As for Sage Creek, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-11-1 record this season.

As of now, neither Escondido Charter nor Sage Creek have any future games scheduled.
