Volleyball Recap: Calhoun Falls Short of Carlyle in the Playoffs

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Calhoun couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the Carlyle Indians/Lady Indians by a score of 2-1 on Tuesday. The Warriors' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Leading Carlyle to victory were Riley Terry and Caybri Pollmann. Terry had 17 assists and three digs, while Pollmann had 13 assists and five digs. Pollmann has been hot recently, having posted 13 or more assists the last three times she's played.

Calhoun's loss dropped their record down to 27-11. As for Carlyle, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 18 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 28-10 record this season.

Calhoun does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Carlyle, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-1 defeat against Okawville on the 6th.
