The Times Squared Academy Eagles are taking a road trip to challenge the Toll Gate Titans at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Times Squared Academy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven matchups.
Times Squared Academy is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing North Smithfield: they outscored them in every quarter. Times Squared Academy enjoyed a cozy 69-55 victory over North Smithfield on Friday.
Steven Garcia was his usual excellent self, putting up 27 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Yomy Garcia, who posted 14 points.
Meanwhile, Toll Gate unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 67-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hope.
Times Squared Academy will have to keep a close watch on Brayden Healey and Jaden Roache, a pair of players who had a big impact on Toll Gate's prior game. Healey went 6 for 8 en route to 12 points along with seven boards and three steals, while Roache went 6 of 8 on his way to 13 points. The dominant performance gave Roache a new career-high in points. Andy Peralta also deserves some recognition as he grabbed his first steal of the season.
Even though they lost, Toll Gate was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive contests.
Times Squared Academy is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.9 points per game. As for Toll Gate, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-4.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as Times Squared Academy and Toll Gate are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Times Squared Academy hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 70.8 points per game. However, it's not like Toll Gate struggles in that department as they've been averaging 57.1 points. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
Times Squared Academy came out on top in a nail-biter against Toll Gate when the teams last played back in January of 2024, sneaking past 64-61. Does Times Squared Academy have another victory up their sleeve, or will Toll Gate turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
