Softball Recap: Paris Comes Up Short

Lexington Catholic hit Paris with a five-run second inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Greyhounds came up short against the Knights, falling 14-4. The defeat continues a trend for the Greyhounds in their meetings with the Knights: they've now lost four in a row.

Paris saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cyra McDaniels, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. McDaniels is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last seven games she's played. Another was Allisyn Rice, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles, one stolen base, and one run.

Paris' loss dropped their record down to 10-16. As for Lexington Catholic, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-8.

Looking ahead, Paris will face off against Mason County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lexington Catholic, they will square off against Lexington Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
