Baseball Recap: Wirt County Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Tyler, Wirt County was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Webster County Highlanders by a score of 9-5. That's more bragging rights for the Tigers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Wirt County got a great performance from Peyton Dye as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over six innings pitched.

At the plate, J Starcher was a standout: he scored a run and stole three bases while going 1-for-4. Wyatt Boice was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Wirt County's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Webster County, their loss was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-1.

Coming up, Wirt County will take on Wahama at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Webster County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Tygarts Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
