Basketball Game Preview: Word of God Academy Force vs. Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool

The Word of God Academy Force will face off against Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool on Friday. Word of God Academy will be strutting in after a win while Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool will be coming in after a loss.

Word of God Academy is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat Open Door Christian Academy 63-9. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Tina Guardado produced another solid performance going 15-for-26 on her way to 30 points in addition to eight assists and seven steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Word of God Academy's points. Brynn Jordan was another key player, dropping a double-double with 16 points and ten rebounds.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Word of God Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were outmatched by Midstate Homeschool and fell 52-11. Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-5.

Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Word of God Academy, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Word of God Academy didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool when the teams last played back in November of 2023, but they still walked away with a 41-37 win.
