Soccer Game Preview: Granger vs. Kearns

The Granger Lancers will venture away from home to challenge the Kearns Cougars at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Granger fought the good fight in their overtime match against Cyprus on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Pirates by a score of 2-1.

Meanwhile, Kearns' matchup on Friday was close up to the half, but then they kicked things up a notch. They put the hurt on West Jordan with a sharp 5-0 win. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for Kearns' offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Arvin Rosales-Arteaga and AlejAndro BArrAgAn scored all five of Kearns' goals, bringing their combined season tally to nine goals.

Granger's defeat dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Kearns, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-11.

Granger got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in March against Kearns by a conclusive 6-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lancers since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
