Soccer Game Preview: Lakeland Preparatory vs. South Gibson

The Lakeland Preparatory Lions will face off against the South Gibson Hornets at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lakeland Preparatory is coming into the match hot, having won their last five games.

Lakeland Preparatory's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed last Tuesday. Everything went their way against Haywood as they made off with a 9-0 victory. Lakeland Preparatory might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 matchups by three goals or more this season.

Their offense was hitting Haywood from everywhere, as eight different players booted in a goal. Ava Brennan led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for South Gibson's offense. They fell 2-0 to Dyersburg on Thursday. The shutout was out of character for South Gibson seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in September.

South Gibson's loss dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Lakeland Preparatory, their win bumped their record up to 15-4-2.
