Softball Recap: Palisade Has No Trouble Against Moffat County

Fans were treated to a battle of the Bulldogs on Friday. Palisade blew past Moffat County 18-2. That 16 run margin sets a new team best for Palisade this season.

Palisade let Madi Gray and Jamyson Mancuso run wild. Gray went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs, while Mancuso went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave Mancuso a new career-high. Lexi Trottier was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Palisade kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in seven consecutive contests dating back to last season.

The victory got Palisade back to even at 3-3. As for Moffat County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-5.

Palisade wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, an 8-4 win against Montezuma-Cortez on the 6th. As for Moffat County, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 17-1 loss against Mullen on the 6th.
