Football Recap: Rowlett Falls Short of Longview in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Rowlett can now relate to. They were beaten by the Longview Lobos 63-7 on Friday. Having soared to a lofty 42 points in the game before, the Eagles couldn't push the score so high this time.

It was another big night for MASON WASHINGTON, who rushed for 285 yards and three TDs on only 13 carries for Longview. Those 285 rushing yards gave WASHINGTON a new career-high. Another player making a difference was JOHNNY HAMILTON, who threw for 216 yards and four touchdowns.

Rowlett's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Longview, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.

Rowlett does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Longview, they will challenge DeSoto at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 1,153 yards in their previous games.
