Basketball Recap: Southwest Prep Northwest Comes Up Short

Southwest Prep Northwest was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They took a 58-40 bruising from the Sunnybrook Christian Lions. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 67-26 back in January.

Sunnybrook Christian was led to victory by Gabe Minica and Jay Williams. Minica dropped a double-double with 12 points and ten boards, while Williams went 7-for-8 en route to 15 points in addition to five assists and four steals. Minica has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 11 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Isaac Anaya, who posted seven points.

Southwest Prep Northwest's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Sunnybrook Christian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season.

Southwest Prep Northwest does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Sunnybrook Christian, they will take on Cornerstone Christian Academy at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. Sunnybrook Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.5 points per game this season.
