Recap: Southwest Wildcats vs. Norborne Pirates
The Southwest Wildcats scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They claimed a resounding 62-35 win over Norborne at home. Winning may never get old, but Southwest sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Southwest's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Grant Warren, who scored 27 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Warren has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Breckyn Volker, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.
Kottin McClure and Thad Hopkins certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. McClure scored 17 points along with six rebounds and three steals, while Hopkins scored ten points along with five rebounds.
Southwest pushed their record up to 7-11 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.3 points per game. As for Norborne, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-15.
Southwest will face off against Higbee at 12:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Higbee's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. As for Norborne, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Tina-Avalon at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Norborne focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Saturday.
