Volleyball Recap: Homer's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Homer entered their tilt with Wakefield on Thursday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Trojans by a score of 2-0. The Knights have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Trojans, too.

Homer easily took the second set, but they let things get interesting in the other. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-11.

Taiah Bird paced Homer's offense, picking up seven kills. Bird got some help from Madi Roeber and her 17 assists. Annah Harris controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Homer's win bumped their record up to 18-9. As for Wakefield, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 18 of their last 19 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-25 record this season.

Homer will challenge Boone Central at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Wakefield, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Winnebago on the 23rd.
