Northwest Christian proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 33) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They escaped with a win against the Benjamin Franklin Chargers by the margin of a single free throw, 60-59. This was payback for the Crusaders, who suffered a 48-30 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Benjamin Franklin's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ethan Sang, who went 7-for-11 en route to 16 points along with seven boards and five assists. Sang has also also been stellar as far as shooting accuracy is concerned: he's posted one of at least 63% every time he's hit the court this season. Another player making a difference was Brody Hansen, who shot 42% from the field on his way to 13 points.

Northwest Christian now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Benjamin Franklin, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.

Looking ahead, Northwest Christian will be playing in front of their home fans against Odyssey Institute at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Benjamin Franklin, they will head out to square off against Seton Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Chargers will need to watch out since the Sentinels have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
