Football Recap: Herriman's Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak on the Road + How To Watch

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Herriman couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They took a 22-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mountain Ridge Sentinels on Friday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Sentinels this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 24-8 back in October.

When it comes to explaining why Herriman lost, don't look at Felisi Felipe. Despite the final result, he rushed for 139 yards and one score. Tyler Messer helped out on the ground, rushing for 85 yards.

Don't try to pin the team's loss on the defense: they kept the trenches locked down and allowed a mere 2.7 yards per carry. While five picked up at least one total tackle, Felipe stood above the rest. He rushed for 139 yards and one TD. Herriman didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 6.8.

Herriman didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Aden Jensen and Troy Ellermeier.

Mountain Ridge's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kohen Cunningham, who picked up 100 receiving yards and one touchdown. Cunningham's receiving production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 100 receiving yards.

Herriman's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-2. As for Mountain Ridge, they pushed their record up to 10-2 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home.

Herriman does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mountain Ridge, they will venture away from home to square off against Corner Canyon at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. The Sentinels will need to watch out since the Chargers have now posted at least 31 points in their last five games.
