Basketball Recap: Laurel Starts Season with Defeat at Home

Laurel unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They lost 29-9 to the Quitman Panthers on Saturday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Golden Tornadoes of the 55-52 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2024.

Coming up, Laurel will head out on the road to challenge West Jones at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Quitman, they will face off against Wayne County at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
