Fremont came into Saturday's matchup looking for another win against Omaha Northwest, but Abriya Watkins wouldn't allow it. The Omaha Northwest Huskies came out on top against the Fremont Tigers by a score of 58-49 on Saturday thanks in part to Watkins, who posted 20 points in addition to five boards and five steals. She has become a key player for Omaha Northwest: the team is 7-2 when she posts at least three steals, but 0-10 otherwise.

Another player making a difference was Delanee Barrett, who went 7 for 10 on her way to 17 points. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.

When it comes to explaining why Fremont lost, don't look at Jenna McClain. Despite the final result, she went 7 of 14 to rack up 25 points and eight rebounds. Valerie Campos also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Omaha Northwest's record is now 7-12. As for Fremont, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-13.

Looking ahead, it'll be Northside v. Southside when Omaha Northwest and Millard South meet at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Millard South is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50 points per game this season. As for Fremont, they will square off against Buena Vista at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
