Basketball Game Preview: Flanagan Falcons vs. Cooper City Cowboys

The Flanagan Falcons will head out to face off against the Cooper City Cowboys at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Flanagan is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.

Last Friday, Flanagan came up short against Plantation and fell 60-53.

Meanwhile, Cooper City was able to grind out a solid win over Plantation on Saturday, taking the game 75-62.

Flanagan better focus on containing Jamier Johnston and Noah Rupert as the pair were huge in Cooper City's win. Johnston dropped a double-double on 31 points and 14 boards, while Rupert dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten assists. The dominant performance gave Rupert a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Janiel Polanco, who posted six points and seven assists.

Flanagan's loss dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Cooper City, the victory got them back to even at 10-10.

Flanagan was dealt a bruising 78-32 defeat at the hands of Cooper City when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Thankfully for Flanagan, Sehmaj Mentor (who went 9 of 16 on his way to 30 points along with seven rebounds and six assists) won't be suiting up this time.
