Cairo extended their winning streak to seven on Friday, bumping them up to 7-2. They walked away with a 38-31 win over the Peach County Trojans. This was payback for the Syrupmakers, who suffered a 48-17 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Leading Cairo to victory were Bryian Duncan Jr and Bryce Puckett. Duncan Jr gained 152 total yards, while Puckett threw for 153 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 88.9% of his passes. The dominant performance also gave Puckett a new career-high in passing touchdowns (two).

Cairo didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Peach County to a completion percentage of just 47.6%. That's the best completion percentage they've posted all season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Peach County fell to 8-1. Despite 154 more yards than Cairo, the Trojans couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

Despite the loss, Peach County still got an impressive performance from Ashton Barton, who rushed for 120 yards and two scores, and also picked up 57 receiving yards and one TD. Barton's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 120 rushing yards. Another player making a difference was Caiden Ivory, who threw for 178 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Cairo has already played their next contest, a 22-14 victory against Westover on the 31st. As for Peach County, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 42-34 win against Monroe on the 31st.
